Project – Acquisition of an Elekta Gamma Knife SRS System
INDO AMERICAN HOSPITAL
Equipment Type
Elekta Gamma Knife (Stereotactic Radiosurgery System)
Key Challenge:
The highly specialized process of decommissioning a stereotactic radiosurgery system, including the technical verification and handling of its dense radiation-shielding materials.
Our Solution:
This project involved the purchase and removal of an advanced Elekta Gamma Knife. Beyond the complex mechanical dismantling of the spherical gantry, our process included on-site material verification. Our technicians used a handheld XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analyzer to scientifically confirm the composition of the valuable, high-density tungsten alloy used for radiation shielding. This meticulous approach ensures we can offer our clients the maximum possible value for their assets based on precise material analysis.
Value Delivered:
-
Provided the highest market value for the asset, backed by on-site scientific material verification.
-
Demonstrated deep technical expertise in both the mechanics and the material science of advanced radiotherapy equipment.
-
Managed the entire end-to-end decommissioning of a complex stereotactic radiosurgery unit.
-
Ensured a safe and compliant removal process from a leading cancer research institute.
